30 Day Encouragement Challenge

(I would like to thank my friend Lyndsay for sharing this with me.)

Oh how I love my husband! There is absolutely no one else on this earth that I would rather be with...absolutely no one! I am so thankful for the husband and father he is. I am so thankful for the sacrifices his makes for our family. I am thankful for the way he loves me and his daughters. I am thankful for the many, many times that he is an encouragement to me. I am thankful for so many things, the list could go on forever.

But this is not a post for that...another time perhaps.

This is about how I need to improve, big time, as an encouragement to him.

Maybe I am the only wife that does this. I've had a tiring day of wiping snot, changing diapers, putting Nora in time-out, nursing a baby, doing laundry, hearing a toddler scream, serving meals, and trying to teach my child that not every color is yellow. So, what do I do when my wonderful husband comes home from work? Well, I take my frustration out on him. Am I the only one who does this? Am I the only bad wife in the entire world?

If I'm not, then maybe you would like to try this also. It's called the "30 Day Encouragement Challenge". Click on the link if you would like to find out more about it.

I am so excited about this challenge and pray that I will become more of an encourager to Matthew. I know this will not be easy, challenges rarely are, but I know with a good attitude and a tremendous amount of help from God, I will achieve my goal.

I will probably be blogging about this over the next 30 days, not every day mind you, but when the mood hits me.

Who knows, this encouragement thing might take and even go on longer. I pray that it does.

I promise that the older your girls get, the easier it is to keep a positive attitude. You will get more rest and be a more pleasant mommy and wife!

Lately, I've been fairly miserable to live with....complaining about all my aches and pains. And I know myself well enough to realize that it isn't gonna get any better after the baby comes.

I've admitted many times to Jim how terrible I am at encouraging him. I don't like that and would love to make changes in that area. So, thanks for making me aware of the challenge.

Wow--this post sounds just like my lifen Dallas. I'm going to check out this link. I tend to take things out on Ben OR I'm just so tired by the time he gets home I don't show him how excited I am to see him. Thanks for sharing this-I needed it!

Count me in! I printed off the info last night. I have not read the entire document yet, but have read the first few days and am putting some ideas into practice. Thanks for the "challenge!"

Hi Dallas

I don't know if you remember me or not but I am Shana Weatherbee Wolfe and I went on a Spring Break Campaign with you at HArding. I think it was the NY trip. Anyhow, I have seen your blog post on a couple of other blogs and I thought I would just say hi.Your family is PRECIOUS! You are just as cute as you were in college!

Dallas, I am not sure if you remember me from HU, but we had a lot of mutual friends. I have seen your comments on a lot of my friends blogs and will admit to being a lurker from time to time. What a great post and challenge to encourage our husbands. You have such a sweet little family.

Ugh, I definitely needed this reminder of how God calls us to be there for our husbands. Thanks for sharing this challenge with us. I pray that God will be with all that choose to participate over the next 30 days.

Dallas, I thought of another SF thing for you to do. Though, I don't you know super well I feel like you would really appreciate this place. It is called Britex Fabrics. It is a FOUR STORY fabric store and it is AWESOME!!! Since it's SF they have lots of interesting things. It's for sure worth at least a walk through.

Hi, I don't know if you remember me from Harding...you're right you don't. I was never at Harding, but my HS BF was...Ashley Lemaster. Anywho, I stalk your blog from time to time because it's just so darn candid and fun to read. I love all your stories about your girls. Most of all, in order to give credit where it is due, I read your encouragement challenge and have accepted the challenge myself. Thanks for posting it.
