Having fun

We've been having a great time so far. I should be in bed right now, but know my faithful blogging lurkers are taking my promise in my last post to "write occasionally" to heart...so, I am writing for you.

The luau was fantastic. Thankfully no coconut bras made an appearance. Marty enjoyed turning 29 and we all enjoyed celebrating with her!
Nora and Bailey have been having a good time together since we arrived.
Oh, look, I colored my hair. It's all brown. I'm tired of explaining my roots to everyone..."Um, really I just haven't had enough time to color my hair (lie: I have not had the desire to color my hair)." Or, "It's just so expensive. (Truth: It is expensive to keep up the farce that I am blond)". Having two kids has not only damaged my waist line, it has damaged my hair color. It just keeps getting darker, so I decided to not fight that battle anymore and colored it all brown. It felt like I had a wig on the first two days, but today, I am starting to recognize myself in the mirror. I've been a blond for 31 years, it's hard to make that change!
And look who turned 8 months old while we have been traveling? Yep, Elyn. And guess who has ended up in bed with me every night (except last night because I was stubborn and wouldn't get her)? Yep, Elyn. Sweet baby girl. Look at those eyebrows...I'm taking her next week to have them waxed. Only kidding, of course, but she is going to need some serious wax by the time she reaches high school. I'm sorry you have "hairy" genes Elyn.
We went to the zoo yesterday. Nora's stroller hadn't arrived yet (my mom was coming later with Elyn and it was in my van) so Bailey offered to share. Don't they look cozy!
Aren't they cute! They were exhausted by the end of our tour. And so was I!Today started our swimming lessons. Everything was pretty good at the beginning. They liked blowing bubbles and hanging out by the side of the pool.
Then when the instructor tried to get Nora to jump in the water to her, she didn't like it. Mean ole' instructor, trying to get her to learn how to swim.
Bailey enjoyed the lesson though.
Finally, Nora decided to take the plunge! And she didn't stop jumping after that. She loved the water today. I'm pretty sure my back and arms are going to be killing me tomorrow after all the catching I did.
Matthew gets here tomorrow and we are so excited about seeing him! He is finishing up his teacher duties and then driving back down. He should be here by bedtime.

I'll try and update in Tennessee, but this time, I make no promises.

Yea Nora! I am so proud of her for being so brave! Ellie never would jump when she was that age. I'm glad the lessons went well. Your hair looks great! Glad you updated. It was good to see you guys having a great time. I liked Nora's face in the stroller. She looked a little squished. See you soon. Love ya!

Looks like yall are having a wonderful trip so far! I really like your new hair color (I'm a bit bias to brunettes)- but you're right, it's weird because I've never seen you as anything but a blonde!

I love your new hair!:) Just give her a little time and I bet Nora will love swimming. When I enrolled H when he was two, I only planned to do it for the summer, and then we never quit. I think he would be heartbroken if we did, he loves it so much!

All brown, huh?!?! It looks really cute in the pictures. I tried the all brown thing a few months ago and went back to highlights last month. Old habits die hard...

Glad your trip is so fun! We start swimming lessons next week (with Jody Rhoten Allison -- do you remember her?) and I hope Sam & Seth do great!
