What happens in Vegas....

We (me and Matthew) are planning a vacay for this summer. It's "adults only"...no kids allowed.

We were thinking of going to Mexico.

Our passports have expired (mine still has my maiden name on it) and it would be an extra expense to get those.

Since we are only going to be gone for about 3 nights, I wanted to spend as much time at our destination as possible.

The flights are ridiculous. To get a good price, we will have to depart the US at 10pm and arrive in Mexico at 5am and then leave Mexico at 7:30 am to return to the US. Basically, we were going to be spending 2 days traveling on our 4 day vacation.

Plan B...Vegas Baby!

Neither of us have ever been and there are a TON of hotels to choose from. I am turning to my blogging friends once again.

If you have been, what hotel do you recommend? What is a must see/do?

I know you won't let me down!!!

We have been 3 times...this past summer when we went was the best! We stayed in the Mirage, they just redid all the rooms last summer and it was so cool! We went to their website and signed up for their e-deals (or something like that) and low and behold, we got a great rate! There are so many fun places to choose from in Vegas...just NOT the Stratosphere. We stayed there on our first visit (we had no clue!) and it was soo far away from everything and of course we are cheap and we walk everywhere so that wasn't good...
You and Matthew will have a great time wherever you stay. The ESPN restaurant was cool...we watched football right at our table! You name it, you can find it in Vegas!!

we love to stay at the luxor. it's a great location and nice hotel. the casino there is great and have affordable tables. be sure to eat the buffet at mandalay bay. it's about $27 per person, but have crab legs and prime rib. when we were there last, jay's hand had turned into a claw he had eaten so many and jarod was practically moo-ing from all the prime rib!

Shane and I LOVE Vegas and it is the perfect for a short vacay! You can only take so much =).

We always stay at The Bellagio - it is pricey, but sometimes you can get a good price and it is soooooo worth it!!!

Jim and I are going to Vegas the end of April. I got decent tickets on Southwest and they are non-stop. The tickets got as high as $389 and as low as $200. So if you watch the tickets and aren't in a hurry to book, you can get a good price.

We also used Priceline for our hotel and got the Trump Hotel which is a 5 star and looks pretty nice. We got it for $89. I have some priceline and hotwire tips if you are interested in using them. Just email me and I'll pass them along.

I am super super cheap & LOVE to get good deals!!

We went there several years ago and stayed at a small place (Stardust) that I don't recommend but we toured all of the hotels and liked Mandalay Bay and New York New York the best. You will have so much fun!!

Go to biddingfortravel.com and other people put in comments of what hotels they are getting from sites like priceline, hotel.com things like that, so you will know ahead of time, we use this for everything.

Love Vegas! Center strip is the best place to be, I think, but it's easy to get around most anywhere by foot. We've stayed at The Paris (great!), Caesar's and Treasure Island (both okay) and Mandalay Bay (very nice, but furthest down the strip). Go see the Beatles LOVE show or Mystere - both are amazing. Have fun!

We went several years ago. I was working a conference and Lamar came with me. We stayed at the MGM Grand, which was nice and good location. The Belagio was just beatiful though. I wished we were there. We ate at a great buffet at Caesar's Palace. We were just there a couple of days and I was working a lot of the time, but it was fun.
