Christmas festivities

Here is how we celebrated:

Nora's BFF, Gibson, got to come over and play yesterday (Christmas Eve). While she was here, we forced her to participate in our Christmas tradition of making cookies for Santa. (I don't think she minded though.)
Nothing better than painting cookies with no shirts on...
After Gibson left, we got busy on our Christmas Eve dinner...it's a tradition also.
After dinner, it was time to open a few presents...which is the ONLY thing Nora wanted to do. But she wasn't excited about opening hers, she was excited for everyone to open the ones she had gotten for them.

For Elyn, she got "cheerleaders". (For those of you that are familiar with the other word for them-pom poms.)
Look at how excited she is for Matthew to open his gift...(it was a watch she picked out).
This is a picture of Elyn opening her pajamas, but you can see my bracelet on my wrist that Nora gave me...it is red and plastic-I think she might want it for herself.

Dance time!
The living room after Santa came.
BLURRY pictures of the girls seeing what Santa brought! (Matthew and I were woken up at 7:30 by Nora, not telling us that Santa had come, but telling us that SNOW had come! When we told the girls that Santa had come to our house, Elyn freaked out a little and didn't want to go into the living room. We had to convince her that he had left the building.)
After we played with the loot, we bundled the girls up and headed out to play in the snow. I had gotten Nora dressed first and was still getting Elyn dressed while Matthew took Nora outside.

She hated it.
Elyn really like it though!
Matthew making a snow angel.
She still hates it. (It's going to be fun snow skiing with her.)
And Elyn still loves it.
We had a very merry Christmas! It was the first Christmas that we did not see anybody else. Matthew's mom and stepdad were going to come and visit for the day, but the road conditions kept them from coming. Despite missing family today, we really enjoyed our day together.

We are hoping to head out tomorrow for a drive. Our journey is taking us through Oklahoma...if you have be paying attention to the news, you know that the OK road conditions are sketchy...we are praying for safe traveling!

I hope all of my blogging friends had a happy holiday as well!

I love the idea of pizza on Christmas Eve. How neat to have a white Christmas...I'm a little jealous :) This is the 1st year that Madison hasn't been freaked out by Santa...she was so excited to see what he had left her. Hope you have safe travels.
