Crazy expensive

Anyone ever notice how crazy expensive  television entertainment is?  It’s crazy expensive.

In an effort to cut back a little on the ole budget we are considering doing away with our cable (Uverse).  Most of the television that we watch is actually recorded television.  We rarely watch anything live.

So, it makes little sense to pay crazy amounts of money each month for recorded television.

Isn’t that what these are?  Recorded television:

I have been pricing things today and signed up for our free trials of both Netflix and Hulu Plus.  I am going to challenge us, as a family, to only view things through these two for the next week.

We will need internet service, obviously.  Since we have UVerse, our internet provider is AT&T…anyone have a better suggestion?

I am sad that Hulu and Netflix does not include live sporting events.  I’m sure that will make Matthew sad too.  I know it will make some of our friends sad.

But people, we will save over $100 each month if we get rid of UVerse.  I think it just might be worth it.

Ask me again during football season if it has been worth it-ha!

Okay, if you are one who only has Netflix or Hulu Plus, let me know how you like it.  What are the positives and negatives?

Mr. Bortzfield and I just talked about this last night but my sports nut guy is not ready to pull the plug. Everything I watch is recorded. I'm too fly for commercials.

You are a better woman than I. I do love my Food Network/folding laundry afternoons each Monday!

we love Netflix! however, the more people who go from TV to such services, the less cable stations will provide those services with their programs. just recently Netflix lost the right to programing from a major cable network (don't remember which) and they have been having nasty discussions with others. i think we will be seeing less and less TV programs available on Netflix.
