Redeem yourself

Well, I have come to the conclusion that:

a. I have only two readers...thank you Lisa and Scott for your helpful info about my question in the previous post
b. I have many readers but NO ONE takes the time to comment
c. No one knows anything about wordpress or typepad or Blogger.

I am choosing to believe that "C" is the reason I only had two comments on my previous post.

Speaking of comments, there are a few of you (Kim, Whitney) who are faithful commenters. The rest of you, you are AWFUL at commenting. I know, I know, I should be taking out the plank in my own eye before pointing out the speck in yours...but seriously people, we ALL need to do a better job at commenting on our blogs. I vow to start doing a better job.

Okay, so let me give you an opportunity to redeem yourself. I realize what I am about to ask, few of you will have enough knowledge to even comment, so I am already setting many of you up to fail. Sorry.

I am in the market for a new embroidering machine. I purchased a used one about 2 1/2 years ago and I have gotten plenty of good use out of it. It gets the job done...most of the time. The lovely lady I bought it from had already been using it for a long while (I'm guessing 7-10 years). So, it is about 9-12 years old. But, it still works. It's a Bernina and I have a MagicBox to go with it.

I'm ready to upgrade. Those of you who own embroidering machines, what do you recommend? I know I want one that is compatible with my PC (I can download fonts and pictures directly from my computer), the hoop size is at least 5x7, and there are not so many bells and whistles that I won't be able to understand it.

I'm not looking to open a business. I just want to make some cute things for my girls and give out great presents.

Okay, any ideas/suggestions?

Oh, and I have an embroidery machine for sale. Let me know if you are interested!

You may now start commenting...

okay, i know nothing about embroidery. this is to say that i think it would be sad if you broke up with blogger. yes, i am bad about commenting, but i DO read! i love being able to see what's going on with the girls with the simple click of my mouse!

Hi Dallas,
I read your blog often, and think your girls are so cute! Boys are the theme in our house! I bought an embroidery machine last December when I found out I was pregnant with my second. I ONLY embroider- I can't sew worth a flip. It has saved me TONS of money just putting initials and names here and there on my boys' things, plus burp cloths etc. as gifts.
I own a Baby Lock EMORE. It is strictly a monogramming machine (no sewing). I love it! It hooks right up to my laptop and away it goes. If you want other info, price (I saved up my money to get it) just email me- jenwalters@bellsouth.net
Good Luck!

Hey Dallas,
I read your blog! You may not remember me, but I live in Nashville and am married to Forrest G. I am friends with Leslie E. and that is how I found out about your blog. Anyway, keep on blogging! Your girls are adorable! We have 2 girls as well. Also, a while back you made a tiered dress and a peasant dress for Nora. What patterns were those?

I figured it was time that I admitted to reading your blog. I found your blog through Julie Neely's, I am a harding alumni as well. Your girls are adorable and your blog makes me smile with every post that I read. My blog is private but I would love for you to see it if you are interested! jacksonfamilyblog@gmail.com

I might be interested in your embroidery machine - how much?

If I don't comment it's because I have no advice concerning your question- i.e. embroidery machines & other blogging options besides blogger. I'm clueless. Ask me for suggestions on a few tv shows you should start watching- I'll talk your ear off.

But other than that- I feel like I always comment, and I'm definitely always reading because you crack me up!

And I'll say I comment more on here than you do on mine! So there missy... take your own advice!! :) JK

I am not a good commenter anymore, but I am a faithful reader.

I love my brother embroidery/sewing machine. It does what I want, but I would like to have one that holds a larger hoop. Unfortunately, to get the bigger hoop size I want, will cost me about $3k.

Good luck!

Here I am to redeem myself.

I also have a Baby Lock EMORE...and I love it...Riley can even do it...that's how easy it is!!

I got a great deal at B Sew Inn in Fayetteville. Ask about getting a deal because they are going to discontinue the EMORE...so they should be willing to deal!!

I can give you more specifics if you want!!

Hope Elyn is better..evidently a lot of us were home on Sunday!!

Elyn was sick? and you didn't mention it to her Nonna??? And, I find out about it from your blog but from another blogger. Oh my!

I'm fulfilling my duty by letting you know I know nothing about such machines. Allen's grandmother does though, so I'll get her suggestions and report back. That means I'll comment twice. :)

faithful reader and non-blogger friend reporting! :) i have no opinions on the sewing stuff except that i love to do it & wish there were more hours in the day so i could sew and be crafty! good luck with your decision and you can always practice my kids' names when you get your new machine-just a suggestion.

love you! :)leslie

I am a loyal reader who needs to improve her commenting skills. I am usually tending to my active 7-month-old while also trying to read blogs, so that's my excuse for not always commenting. :)

My answer is "c" to your question. I know nothing about WordPress or TypePad. Oh, and I also know nothing about embroidery machines, other than I like the finished products. I'm not much help tonight.

I have a Janome. Call me and I can give you some Ideas. I worked the last few days so I just got the message you sent me on facebook. Anyways. My neighbor has a babylock and loves it.

I admit I read your blog, but am not good at commenting! I love to read your blog and I have found many blogs to read from yours. I, however, know nothing about sewing or embroidery or wordpress . .. sorry!
Keep up the good blogging! I will try to comment more often.

I've become a horrible commenter. Sorry. The embroidery machine that I have a crush on is a Janome. But this babylock EMORE thing sounds pretty promising. And ... C.

I'm with everyone else...you know we read, we just all have kids running around....
I've got a wordpress account that I made a page for our 5th and 6th graders, I just am VERY comfortable with blogger (almost 4 years) so I'm a chicken to switch....
I would love to have 2 minutes to blog much less embroider! But, that is what my friends are for and they do an awesome job.
You know we will read whatever you write....we just may not always commment!! Love the birthday and pumpkin patch pictures of the girls!!

Well, I have to leave a post on this one, huh??!!
Just kidding.
Well, I know nothing about those other 2 sites. Are these more updated than Blogger or just cooler?
Oh, how much for the embroidery machine? Not that I know how to use it, but let's face it, if I could my kids would have their initial on everything-I blame southern roots!

Hi, I'm Kelli and I read your blog. Since you don't know me sometimes I'm scared to comment. Your kids are adorable and you crack me up.
There, I did it, I'm out in the open!
